Our 6th annual free rural Himalayan medical, dental and optical clinic ended on the highest of notes. We served nearly 800 villagers. 552 for optical service including glasses, and Cataract clinic referrals. Over 200 dental fillings, extractions and implants along with hundreds of clients seen for ear care, physical therapy, doctor specialists and pharmacy prescriptions.

3 Pass Everest Team became the two pass team as weather conditions atop 18,220’ Kongma La pass have deteriorated and rendered the pass too dangerous to attempt.
No bother though as the trek from Lobuche to the village of Pangboche was ever so beautiful.
Team took a moment to reflect at the memorial cairns for fallen Everest climbers and hiked through the spectacular Pheriche valley.
Ended the day with a rousing game of Farkle and the battle for the coveted Farkle hat!

The Awesome Possum 3 Pass trekkers enjoyed a beautiful acclimatization hike above Goyko to about 16,400’. Viewed Cho Oyo, the 6th highest mountain in the world and the longest glacier in the Himalaya which emanates from it. The crosses it tomorrow on our way to the nest pass. Last photo is the fuel of the high Himalaya. Families collect Yak dung from the trails, dry it in large patties and use it to heat homes and cook over.

Our medical team made it just in time before low clouds set in. The monks at our host monastery blessed our arrival and then it was straight into treating patients. A great first afternoon and we are all set for a full day tomorrow. Thanks for all the support, please stay tuned as we plan to see and care for over 1000 local residents. Coming back round to the end of our trek. Whilst sad it’s almost over we are still astounded by far off views of Everest watching over us. Mani stones to wish us on our way.
