There’s another side of my job that isn’t often highlighted, because although thankfully it doesn’t happen often, it happens: the unsatisfied traveler. It’s easy to highlight the amazing things (this is IG after all), but what happens when clients are in their destination not having an amazing experience?
Here’s what I tell folks to do if you get to your hotel and something isn’t passing the vibe check:
1️⃣ Inform the Front Desk 👩🏾💻
Based on the nature of your issue, the front desk is your first line of defense. They can efficiently address concerns related to your room and similar matters, which tend to be the bulk of issues I hear about.
2️⃣ Speak with Hotel management 🧑🏾💼
If you’re not getting anywhere with the front desk, there’s a manager around and you may have to escalate your complaint. Their job is to help guests and make sure they can resolve any issues, within their scope of ability.
3️⃣ Holla at ya girl 👋🏾
If you still aren’t getting anywhere, let me know. You now have the paper trail at the hotel documenting who you spoke to, but now it’s time to bring me, the supplier and my corporate contacts onboard.
I KNOW how frustrating it is to invest money in a vacation and it not go as planned. Trust me, I’ve been there!!! Pleeeeasssseee keep in mind that you’ve taken time away from your job to visit these people at their jobs, and no one likes getting cussed out at work. Be assertive, be persistent but be kind — it’ll get you better results! 😊 🤝🏾

After visiting over 60 all-inclusive resorts, I have opinions. And because of those opinions, if I wouldn’t book a trip to a certain property, I’m not sending my clients there either.
This is one reason that my trips to Mexico and the Caribbean are so crucial. Sure they look fun…but there’s a LOT of walking (in extreme heat) involved. 60 resorts is barely the tip of the iceberg — you’ll find more resorts than that in the Cancun area!!
As a couple or group leader trying to choose between HUNDREDS of resorts, this is why working with someone who has actually had “boots on the ground” and has a feel for certain destinations is critical.

⭐️ Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at Cococay was a huge draw last month. Most of their Eastern Caribbean sailings stop at their private island for a day of play in the sun. ☀️ 🛳️
