For those wondering, the Osprey made it thru Irma just fine. The dock however did suffer some damage. The crew has been fixing it these last few days. We should be back in full operation within a few days.

Congratulations to our Vice President on attaining their Master Captain's 100 Tons License!!!

What is it you ask?
The USCG Masters License allows the holder to operate inspected vessels as well as uninspected vessels. Any vessel that is certified (authorized) by the USCG to carry more than 6 paying passengers plus crew must have a Captain who holds a Masters license. Ferry boats, harbor tours boats, whale watch boats are examples of inspected vessels.

Trivia for the week:
Amphitrite - 156' Jolly Roger is docked right next to our vessel the OPSPREY. Here is some history on this luxury vessel.

Amphitrite – 156ft Jolly Roger liner
Built in 2001 in Turkey and accommodates 10 guests in 5 cabins. She is outfitted with 2 – 250hp Caterpillar 3406C engines and has a cruising speed of 12.5 knots giving a range of 3,200 nautical miles and fitted with Quantum zero speed stabilizers.
Author, JK Rowling purchased the vessel in January 2016 from Actor Johnny Depp.
The liner was originally named Vajploroja – a pun on the Jolly Roger using the names of Depp’s family. Depp changed the name to Amphitrite – The Greek Sea Goddess and wife of Poseidon - when he gave it as a wedding gift to Amber Heard.
JK Rowling later sold the line in September 2016 for 15 million less than she bought it.
It is now listed with Curtis Stokes and Associates for a cool 17.8 Million
