On April 21 General Cleckley attended the Coffee Talk networking event which was presented by The Women Veteran Subcommittee of The Governor's Advisory Board on Veterans' Services. The event was held at the Oahu Veteran Center in Honolulu. The event enabled women veterans to not only network but to also meet resource providers from National, State, and Local Agencies for Veteran Services. A wealth of information was shared with all in attendance.

BG Cleckley gave a very passionate and well received speech on Diversity this past Monday at the DC Armory during their Diversity Observance event. During her speech she included the topics of mentoring and the importance of minorities and women contributing to American History.

The legendary gospel singer Shirley Caesar was in the attendance at the Hallie's Comet Productions Pre-Veterans Day Beauty Pageant. BG Cleckley was honored that Pastor Caesar purchased her book, "A Promise Fulfilled ".

BG Cleckley gave a passionate and motivational speech on October 19 to graduates of the DC Superior Court Drug Intervention Program. The program was hosted by Judge Gregory E. Jackson. The audience of graduates, guests and staff were inspired and encouraged to hear BG Cleckley speak of overcoming challenges and how to NEVER give up on succeeding in life. She told the graduates that "YOUR FUTURE IS NOT DETERMINED BY YOUR PAST, IT’S WHAT YOU LEARNED FROM IT AND WHAT YOU DO WITH WHAT YOU LEARNED THAT WILL HELP YOU SUCCEED IN REACHING YOUR GOALS". Once again, BG Cleckley hit the mark with her inspiring words.

On September 22 BG Cleckley gave a passionate speech on Mentoring and Leadership at the National Guard Bureau's Leadership Forum in Arlington, Virginia. The speech was well received and was coupled with a book signing.
