Some lemurs (bamboo lemurs, sportive lemurs, tiny mouse lemurs) only come out at night and enjoy resting in cool hiding spots during the day. Others, like the red ruffed lemur, are active during the day and use loud calls to set their territory.

Ringtail lemurs are only found in the arid spiny forest of southern Madagascar. Their habitat is rapidly shrinking each year as the growing human population here cuts the forest back each year for charcoal, building materials, and agriculture. The lodge we work with is trying to stem the tide by introducing cooking techniques that use less charcoal and implementing a reforestation program. But it's a long uphill battle.

LEMURS! The highlight of any trip to Madagascar is to see these furry friends in the wild. They are notoriously difficult to photograph as they are often moving about, hiding in the canopy, or napping in the heat. I was determined to get good pictures this time! More to come!

The first views of the Treasury at Petra will leave any visitor spellbound! This ancient city is one of the world's most remarkable archaeological sites and was (re)discovered today in 1812.

The best way to get to this UNESCO World Heritage Site is the same way the ancient Nabataean traders did: on foot via a 7.5-mile hike through the Jordanian desert, along a dramatic cliff, and down a sandstone canyon.

Our first glimpse of the Monastery from afar made us stop awestruck in our tracks, and we continued to be wowed by the intricate architecture, mysterious history, and timeless beauty of the entire Petra complex.

Pumas in Patagonia!

We are thrilled to share that our recent donation to Fundación Cerro Guido Conservación in Chile is supporting the installation of camera traps to monitor puma populations in Torres del Paine National Park.

During our recent visit, we were amazed to spot a puma in the wild! A huge shoutout to Fundación Cerro Guido Conservación and all the dedicated conservationists working tirelessly to protect these elusive and cunning predators. Your efforts are making a real difference in preserving the incredible wildlife of Patagonia!
