Whatâs that sound???
One of Yellowstoneâs cutest wildlife species is often heard more than they are seen, the Pika!! If youâve ever hiked along the high elevation, rocky slopes of the Greater Yellowstone area, youâve probably heard their distinctive sound!!
Pikas scurry around on loose rocky areas collecting grasses and vegetation, then neatly organizing it all as they conduct their meal-planning for the impending winter.
With cooler weather in the forecast, itâs a great time to be looking and listening for Pikas!

The autumn Elk Rut in Yellowstone is one of the most exciting annual wildlife events in the Park!!
Loud and boisterous bull Elk relentlessly pursue and defend groups of cow Elk, anxiously waiting for the opportunity to mate.
Itâs rowdy, itâs intense, and it makes for some extraordinary opportunities for watching and photographing these iconic animals!!

We were enjoying a beautiful sighting of the Junction Butte wolves this morning, but got briefly interrupted by this big olâ bull Bison passing by!!!
We try to be the best neighbors we can possibly be, but ultimately weâre reminded that it is truly THEIR home.
