Thank you for bringing the firework show back to Bozeman!

We are excited to host the 2nd annual City of Bozeman Fireworks Show! This event would not be possible without the public/private partnership we formed last year. A special thank you to Cory Lawrence (Armory Hotel and Off the Beaten Path) for spearheading fundraising efforts two years in a row. Another BIG thank you to this year's partners for their generous sponsorship:

Kimpton Armory Hotel
Off the Beaten Path Authentic Travel Experiences
Murdoch's Ranch & Home Supply
Rocking R Bar
Ponderosa Social Club
Kenyon Noble Lumber & Hardware

Please note that this year's event will take place at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds. We're excited to return to a familiar location for many from when the Lion's Club hosted the show. Here's to a safe Fourth of July, an amazing show, and our generous partners for making it happen!

On this day in Montana history in 1985, the Montana Standard proclaimed, “Lady Mission Accomplished.” Butte mine electrician Bob O’Bill originally wanted to build a five-foot statue of the Virgin Mary in his backyard to celebrate his wife’s recovery from cancer. The project grew in scope and Bob’s backyard project became a community-wide effort to install a 90-foot-tall statue of Mary on one the mining city’s highest peaks, Saddle Rock (elevation 8,510 feet).

Construction began in December 1979. Bob’s friend, welder Leroy Lee, designed, sculpted, and welded the statue’s three pieces together, despite having no sculpting experience. Appropriately, the Lady’s interior support system is an upside-down mine shaft. Volunteers helped blast the road to the top of the Rockies and other residents raised funds. All labor, materials, heavy machinery, and even the land where the statue stands, was donated -- a remarkable achievement given Butte’s severely depressed economy at the time.

As thousands watched, on Dec. 17, 1985, a helicopter lifted the head, the final piece of the statue of Our Lady of the Rockies, up to Saddle Rock. Today, the statue is a memorial to all women, especially mothers. Find information on summer tours and memorial tiles at https://www.ourladyoftherockies.com/.

Yellowstone Newest update!!!
Come check out Yellowstone in the fall🧡💛

⚠️10/13 FLOOD UPDATE⚠️
Yellowstone National Park’s Northeast Entrance Road (Tower Junction to the Northeast Entrance in Cooke City/Silver Gate, Montana) will open to regular visitor vehicle traffic Saturday, Oct.15 at 8 a.m.

Visitors should keep the following details in mind when driving the road:
▪ All flood damaged sections on the Northeast Entrance Road will be paved by Oct.15, except for the section of road near the popular trailhead to Trout Lake, which will be paved in the upcoming 10 days. Traffic will be permitted on this segment of road while repairs continue. Anticipate traffic control in the area and short delays to facilitate one-way traffic through this section.

▪ A short section of road in Lamar Canyon will remain a paved, single lane through the winter season. A temporary stop light will be in place for traffic control and delays will be minimal.

▪ There will be no restrictions on the Northeast Entrance Road.

▪ After opening to the public, this road will continue to be an active construction zone. Drivers will need to use caution and watch for crews and heavy equipment.

▪ Repair efforts will continue beyond Oct. 15 for as long as weather permits. Additional repairs and clean-up will continue in the spring.

“We are very pleased to be restoring public access to the northeast corridor just four months after the June flood event,” said Superintendent Cam Sholly. “I commend the collective efforts of the National Park Service, the Federal Highway Administration and Oftedal Construction, Inc. to complete this monumental task in such a short amount of time.”

The Northeast Entrance Road has been closed since the historic flood event in June which caused significant damage to approximately five sections of the road. Reopening this section effectively opens 99% of the park’s roads.

This project is being completed with support from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and funded largely by FHWA Emergency Relief for Federally Owned Roads (ERFO). Oftedal Construction, Inc. is the primary construction company under contract to complete this project.

Crews are completing extensive work on the Old Gardiner Road (a limited-access road between Gardiner, Montana, and Mammoth Hot Springs). Paving is currently being completed over the entire 4-mile road and over 5,000 feet of guardrail is being installed. This road remains closed to regular traffic and will open no later than Nov. 1.

‼ For details, including up-to-date photos, about the June flood and ongoing recovery, visit go.nps.gov/YELLflood.

❔Looking for guest preference❔
💫 Since you are the ones that stay here we thought we would get your thoughts! We changed out one queen bed to a king the beginning of the summer and have gotten great feedback, so now we are looking at maybe changing out the other bed.
👧Whats your Goldilocks preference?!

🧸Should we keep the queen?
🐻Change to a king?
👯‍♀️Or 2 twin beds that can also be put together if would rather have a king.

Currently it’s a 2 bedroom: 1 king bed 1 queen bed. We have a lot of families with more then 1 kid or groups of friends traveling that might prefer the option for 3 beds instead of 2. 🤷🏻‍♀️

(News Release) Yellowstone National Park to host Yellowstone Revealed Aug. 17-28 to commemorate 150 Years of Yellowstone; Visitors invited to learn about the historic and continued presence of American Indian Tribes in the Yellowstone region

Yellowstone National Park is honored to host Yellowstone Revealed, a collaborative effort with Mountain Time Arts and numerous Tribal Nations, to commemorate 150 Years of Yellowstone. Yellowstone Revealed will premiere a series of public, place-based projects and artworks created by an inter-Tribal group of artists and scholars in locations throughout the park. From Aug. 17-28, visitors to the park are invited to learn about the historic and continued presence of American Indian Tribes in the Yellowstone region.

“We’re pleased to work with Mountain Time Arts on Yellowstone Revealed,” said Superintendent Cam Sholly. “This partnership continues our major Tribal engagement efforts and will allow thousands of visitors to directly engage with members of American Indian Tribes in Yellowstone.”

"I think there’s a real thirst for this kind of Indigenous knowledge right now. The more knowledge you have, the better-informed you are to make decisions about your beliefs and perhaps about what you want to learn.” Francesca Pine-Rodriguez (Crow and Northern Cheyenne), Executive Director of Mountain Time Arts.

Starting Aug. 17, seven teepees will be illuminated at sunset near the Roosevelt Arch in Gardiner, Montana. From Aug. 23-27, a series of interpretive hikes, demonstrations and storytelling at various locations in the park will take place to give park visitors insight into diverse Indigenous ways of knowing. A free reservation to attend each hike was required and the hikes are now full. Interested parties can sign up via a waitlist. In addition, a teepee village representative of the park’s 27 associated Tribes will be at Madison Junction Aug. 23-27. An artwork showcasing seven moving buffalo sculptures brought to life by 14 dancers and 10 drummers will take place at sunset at Madison Junction on Aug. 24 and Old Faithful on Aug. 25. These events are free and open to the public. For further details, visit go.nps.gov/Yellowstone150.

Over the past year, the park has engaged a substantial number of employees, partners, and Tribes to generate ideas for commemorating 150 years of Yellowstone. Significant Tribal engagement has occurred to focus on the importance of the Yellowstone area to its 27 associated Tribes.

A sincere thank you to all the event partners, including Mountain Time Arts; the city of Gardiner, Montana; Yellowstone Forever; National Parks Conservation Association; Greater Yellowstone Coalition; Park County Environmental Council; Pretty Shield Foundation; and Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders Council.

Visit go.nps.gov/Yellowstone150 and follow frequently in 2022 to stay current on commemoration information.
