Our Golden Puffer exhibit is one of the first you will see on your visit. It’s a fun habitat to observe for a while because the fish are always so busy. This is an accomplishment in animal care, because we love to see our animal’s natural behaviors on exhibit.

It’s Gator Gumbo Day!! Before you can eat ‘em, ya gotta wrastle ‘em! Beside going out to hunt your own, there are two primary ways to source Alligator meat. It can come from Commercial Hunters (think Swamp People), like we were hunting with in this picture, or it is Farm Raised for the meat and garment industries. Either way is absolutely delicious! Over a decade of messing with Gators, I’ve found my favorite way to prepare them is through my process of cleaning, brining, seasoning, wrapping and smoking whole Gators like what will go in your Smoked Gator & Seafood (Shrimp & Blue Crab) Gumbo today! Beautiful Blueberries! We’re in the second week of blueberry season and the bushes are loaded. We are still picking the earliest varieties, so we will have plenty of blueberries for the next 4 or 5 weeks. Blackberries should start to ripen in the next 2-3 weeks. It’s a great berry season!!

The Fish of Wish Bowl Falls 🐟✨

We love the golden rainbow trout because of its unique coloring. While it is a golden color, it has the same genetics as regular rainbow trout and even shares the pink stripe on its side. You'll see these gorgeous fish at the turn-around point of the paved trail.
