Turkish Airlines, the flag carrier of Turkey, has been named the Best Airline in Europe for the eighth time at the prestigious World Airline Awards, also known as the "Oscars of the Aviation Industry." The event took place at the Paris Air and Space Museum. Turkish Airlines received additional accolades for Best Business Class Catering, Best Economy Class Catering, Best Airline in Southern Europe, and Best Economy Class Seat in Europe.
The Skytrax awards survey for 2022-23, which was available in multiple languages, received over 20.23 million responses from citizens of more than 100 countries. The survey evaluated 325 airlines, and Turkish Airlines emerged as the winner in multiple categories.
Bilal Ekşi, the CEO of Turkish Airlines, expressed pride in receiving the Best Airline in Europe award for the eighth time. He emphasized that this achievement further solidifies the airline's position as a leader in the industry. Ekşi also highlighted the recognition as the Best Airline in Southern Europe, expressing the company's commitment to continually improve service standards and provide the best possible experience for passengers.
Edward Plaisted, the CEO of Skytrax, praised Turkish Airlines for their outstanding performance in the awards. He commended their achievement in winning the Best Airline in Europe award for the eighth time and acknowledged the airline's popularity among customers. Plaisted also acknowledged the contribution of Turkish DO&CO, the airline's catering partner, in securing the awards for Best Business Class Catering and Best Economy Class Catering.
