In the winter we use snowshoes ❄️🥾 on the trails.

The B***o 🫏 trail is outside our back door. It leads down to town at the base of peak 9. Or let it wind you through the forest and catch some elevated views up towards Spruce Creek Road.

It’s not all downhill in Breckenridge. I learned Nordic skiing at the Breckenridge Nordic Center. It increases cardiac output. Allows time to appreciate nature. Increases balance Gliding over uneven surfaces increases your “kinesthetic sense,” in other words, your body’s ability to perceive its location in space. Uses a large percentage of your muscle mass, and is more efficient and effective than activities using legs alone or arms alone. They have amazing snowshoe trails there as well. Breckenridge’s International Snow Sculpture Championships annually takes place in Downtown Breckenridge, Colorado. Snow sculpting teams from around the world participate in the event to hand-carve 25-ton blocks of snow into enormous, intricate works of art. Interestingly, no power tools are permitted in the snow sculpting competition as artists are only allowed to use hand tools to bring their ideas to life. In 2023, the six-day Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture Championships will take place from Friday, January 27 to Wednesday, February 1.
