Summer is finally making an appearance in Breckenridge and the sunshine feels ohhh so good. There are so many important benefits associated with Leave No Trace principles. Pack it In, Pack it Out has been around for a long time - for good reason! It's easy to remember and easy to execute. If you have a dog, be prepared by bringing waste bags on hikes with you and ensuring to pick up and pack out dog waste. Same goes with all snacks: wrappers, apple cores, orange peels, etc. all need to be thrown away. Breckenridge's free transportation systems and walkable town make going carless a breeze! 🌷 If possible, make reservations for dining & activities in advance. You'll thank yourself! 🍨 Visit Mid-Week if possible to avoid the busiest travel times. 🦌 Always follow #LeaveNoTrace principles - Protecting what we love is more important than ever when heading outdoors. Today is the final day to see the sculptures at the 2024 International Snow Sculpture Championships presented by Toyota ❄️⚒️🌬️ what a fantastic two weeks it's been! From watching the Breckenridge community come together to build 12-foot-tall blocks of snow of 25-tons, that were then carved into gorgeous snow sculptures by talented teams of artists, to celebrating the grand illumination, and finally giving the sculptures over to the public for several days of excited viewing! The entire Championship has been a joy to watch! Congratulations again to our WINNERS! 🏆 Team Mexico, "The Beggar" taking home the GOLD 🥈 Team Mongolia, "Mother Earth" taking home the SILVER 🥉 Team Germany-Bavaria, "FLOAT" taking home the BRONZE 🎨 Teams Mexico & Germany-Bavaria tied for the Lothar Luboschik Artist's Choice Award 🗳️ Team Mexico earned the public's love, winning the People's Choice Award We're already looking forward to having our amazing international friends back for the competition in 2025! International Snow Sculptures in Breckenridge
We're just DAYS away from the International Snow Sculpture Championships presented by Toyota here in Breckenridge! The snow blocks are built and our fabulous national and international teams are making the trek to Breck as we speak. The fun starts Monday! Check out these important tips if you're visiting for the competition this year: ❄️Carving takes place Jan 22 - 26. ❄️Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony (open to the public!) on Friday, Jan 26. ❄️Free, timed reservations are required to view the sculptures on Saturday, Jan 27 (more info here: https://bit.ly/3Gj09Yv). ❄️Viewing is encouraged without reservations needed Sunday Jan 28 - 31st. ❄️Go carless in Breckenridge by utilizing free, local buses, lodging shuttles, or walking to the event! Free event parking will be available at the Airport Road Lot with shuttles to and from downtown. There is *no* parking at the event site unless you have accessibility license plates or placards. We can't wait to see the stunning art and your shocked faces SOON!
