After seeing about eight different lions and cubs, we realize we had a flat tire. We drove about 300 yards to a flat spot and our driver changed the flat tire in less than five minutes. Exciting.

This morning we were in a herd of about 300 Cape Buffalo. There were two giraffes together, not a two headed giraffe. And as usual, a lot of great elephant pictures and one or we had to get out of a deep sand hole because we were stuck.

In Africa on game drive. About 20feet from the lions and elephants. Our camp is 50 miles down a dirt road. But running water and flush toilets.

The 10th Mountain Division Group has about 40 Back Country Cabins that can be used winter or summer. This is from March with Ritt Dallaire and Bill Chadick who are classmates of mine from the Academy. Only 3 miles uphil on Alpine Touring Skis with a 40LB pack. I barely made it. LOL

Went fishing at the lake in Fairplay today. Caught an 18 Rainbow which jumped OUT of my net several times and a few 6 inchers that fell thru my net. Beautiful blue sky day.

We based out of Highland Heaven and went on an easy Hike to Blue Lakes about 20 minutes from the house. Got to see about 15 too friendly mountain goats. LOL.

This is the only way to ski in Summit County now is to crawl to the top. And then this is probably me after doing it in the snowdrift. LOL. Summer is waiting and you can social distance on hikes, fly fishing, golf and drinking wine on our back porch.

We are back from Breckenridge. Always something to do. Weather was great or if not, we hit the hot tub. As usual Breck has a street festival and great fun going on a weekend.

Flowers are outstanding this year in Breckenridge and all of Colorado. The Columbine and Indian Paintbrush are amazing. Some hikes to places like Cataract Lake will show a million Columbines. Check it out.

The mountain goats at Blue Lakes are probably a little too friendly. But fun to watch. This week we saw moose, fox, deer, and hummingbirds. Great time to be in Breckenridge. The hike around Blue Lakes with the snow covered peaks are a joy.
