Our pilgrims were filled with joy when they reached the top of Cross Mountain (Mt. Krizevac) in Medjugorje. This is an experience you will never forget. Pilgrims pray the Stations of the Cross as they ascend the rocky terrain. When they get to the top, a 30-foot high cross awaits them that was built by the Medjugorje villagers in 1933 to commemorate Jesus’ passion and death on the cross.

206 Tours pilgrims at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Covadonga!

This shrine in Spain gained popularity following the Battle of Covadonga in 722, when the Moors invasion of Spain was first resisted. A statue of the Virgin Mary, secretly hidden in one of the caves, was believed to have faithfully supported the Christian victory. Covadonga is the place where the re-conquest began under King Pelayo, whose remains are buried in the cave alongside Our Lady of Covadonga. This is also the gateway to the Picos de Europa National Park and the scenery surrounding the Shrine is breathtaking. The Basilica, which was built alongside the cave housing the statue of Our Lady of Covadonga, is a place of worship and Pilgrimage for the people of Asturias. Pilgrims are able to visit the Holy Cave and see the statue of Our Lady of Covadonga, the tomb of King Pelayo, and King Alfonso I.

It's believed to have been erected by Charlemagne in the 8th century.
Some pilgrims bring a stone, from home or pick one along the way, which they leave at the cross. This act symbolizes giving burdens, sins and challenges to God, marking a moment of introspection and redemption.

Our pilgrims visited the Chapel of the Miraculous Medal in Paris, France. It was here that Our Lady appeared to St. Catherine Laboure in 1830 and instructed her to make the Miraculous Medal. She told St. Catherine that those who wear the Miraculous Medal will receive special protection and abundant graces.

In addition to seeing the very place where Our Lady appeared, pilgrims visiting the Chapel can also view the incorrupt body of St. Catherine Laboure.

When we first meet people, many ask, “Why the name ‘206 Tours’?” – Here’s the story: In the early 80's our founder, Milanka Lachman, made a pilgrimage to Medjugorje. She noticed that in Medjugorje each evening, pilgrims and locals alike, eagerly await twenty minutes to six (20 to 6) PM, which is the time the alleged apparitions of Our Lady.
