There's something about a small aluminum boat that brings back fond memories of my childhood fishing on similar lakes in Maine with my brother. As young boys, we were allowed to take the boat out on our own, many times before our parents woke up. Decades later, I still remember that smallmouth bass that I saw through the clearest of water. It looked like it had to be a state record sitting there right beneath our boat! Of course, it did not like what I had to offer that day. Would you look at that? A fish tale....but 100% true!
