The wrecks are loaded with keeper tog and sea bass. We only kept 15" to 18" of both species but caught about 80. Released all under 15". Stripers are also being caught and we saw large bluefin free jumping 13 miles offshore and whales 2 miles out. Fishing is great when weather permits. Book your next trip at www.babucharters.com

Shane and his friends fished with BabuCharters today. They caught a variety of fish including fluke, sea bass, croaker, blues, sea robins and others. Dinner will be the 21” fluke and 3 keeper sea bass. The Riptide B&T mackerel strips were the best bait.

The Martins had a enjoyable day bay fishing yesterday. The caught 18 fluke up to 18.5", and great fun enduring to pull from two 30 # class cownose rays, and also land a couple of clear nose skates. The Riptide B&T baits continue to produce.

Sea Bass reopens Tomorow, July 1st. and continues until August 31st. Summer is here, and I hope to see you aboard soon.

Fluke fishing was a little slow today, but the Kulish group did catch 10 fluke up to 20". Riptide B&T minnows were the best bait today

Sea Bass ends tomorrow and will go to one fish July 1st. The bay fluke bite has been good. We've caught between 20 and 40 fluke per trip with fish up to 20". Some fluke will move into the ocean soon.

The boys today caught 20 fluke up to 19" and had a fun time doing it. The Riptide B&T squid/spearing combo continue to be the best baits.

We caught over 75 seabass yesterday and kept 7 over 14”. The we moved to the bay and released 18 fluke. The Oaks group had a great day of fishing with Babu Charters. The Riptide B&T baits continued to produce.

Yesterday the Rice group fished the morning bay trip with Babu Charters. They ended up with 17 fluke up to 19". The guys had a fun time. Being from the mid-west they don't gar a chance to do much saltwater fishing. The Riptide B&T bait continue to be the best.

Babu Charters had a good bay trip for fluke this morning catching 21 fluke to 19". The Riptide B&T spearing and squid combo are still the best baits. The rain was just stopping as we left, and it turned into a nice day. Larry and Caloor had a fun time.

Yesterday's sea bass trip had a lot of catching. About 90 sea bass and 10 tog were boat with all but 9 sea bass being released. Capt. Tim was running Babu III, and the Riptide B&T salted clams did all of the catching. The first part of sea bass season ends June 19 for the higher fish limit and reopens July 1 with a one fish limit. Babu III managed to get a bay trip in before the rain started. The bachelor party caught 16 fluke up to 20”. It turned out to be a enjoyable fishing morning. We caught them using Riptide B&T spearing/squid combo.

Melissa and Michael caught 19 fluke up to 21" yesterday while fishing with Babu Charters. Capt. Tim found the fish despite the cold and wind, and the Riptide B&T spearing and squid did their job getting the fish on the hook.

Dolphin not social distancing

Made the run from Cove Marina in Atlantic City to Deebold's Marina in Brigantine on Saturday. It was a little breezy, but nothing like today. Stay Healthy!

Dolphin visit

We were offshore shark fishing yesterday when these three visitors arrived. Later in the day another group of dolphin visited along with a leatherback turtle. The turtle was shy and did not come within camera range. I'll post video of the shark fight when I get it. It was a nice dusky that we released without removing it from the water. The ocean weather was perfect, one of the best days this season.

This is just one of the six dusky that we removed the hook and released on July 9th. We needed to cut the cable on a couple sharks that had the hooks too deep for removal. The hooks are carbon steel and should rust out quickly.

Mako release

Here is a short video of our Mako release yesterday. We need better cable cutters. The fish was really worn out, but it eventually swam away okay. It was caught with a 20 International.

Fighting 2nd Dusky

First Dusky release.

Had a great day fishing from James's light tackle boat yesterday with James, Jen, and my 10 year old granddaughter Jamie. We started in Great Bay, but didn't see any action, so we moved to behind Atlantic City, and found a steady pick of big blues from 8 to 12.5 pounds. We were using fresh Riptide bunker, and clam chum. We caught throughout the entire outgoing tide. Boated and released at least 14 blues.
