And we are a go for Saturday, April 5!! This looks like our best shot for good flows. 🤞Whatever the weather does, we will be there and could not be more excited to race the infamous New Haven Ledges. Will there be a three-peat from Bob Frederick(but seriously who is that??).

We are a little late with the recap, but we wanted to send a quick thank you to all who came out and took on the 2024 New Haven Ledges Race. Water was high, nerves were high, and so we
applaud everyone who decided to suit up and participate, as well as those who decided to wait until next year. Both can be tough decisions to make.

In the end, we had 30 racers put down some impressive laps. You all did a fantastic job of ensuring safety and supporting each other on the river. This event would not be the success it is without everybody pitching in.

This year, Bob Frederick became the first boater to go back-to-back, following up last year’s win with another top finish and a final time of 2:21. Julian Diamond finished only three seconds behind to take 2nd, while Mike Mainer and Justin Schmaleale tied for 3rd. The champion of the women’s class was Ellie Friedmann with two impressive laps.

We also have to give a huge shout out to our sponsors who came through with some amazing prizes this year. Outdoor New England - ONE provided incredible 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes including a brand new Jackson Gnarvana, Astral Rescue Vest, and IR sprayskirt. NRS also showed up big with a brand new Gore-Tex Drysuit going to the female champion, and another being raffled off. We also had support from Umiak Outdoor Outfitters Immersion ResearchWerner Paddles. These are great companies; they support these events and the community, so be sure to support them.

Bristol, VT has been a great host to us over the years so please be respectful by not parking at the Bristol Seventh-Day Adventist Church and making sure you pull completely off the road when you park (no tires on asphalt!!).

While we could not be more excited for the 2024 New Haven Race,
we have decided to move the race to April 13, after much deliberation. The forecast for the next two days calls for significant snow with cold overnight temperatures, making for unfavorable race conditions this Saturday. The weather looks more favorable next week leading up to April 13.

The upside is another week to get those practice laps for a chance to win that Jackson Kayak Gnarvana from Outdoor New England - ONE.

6 days out and we are psyched. Courtesy of Outdoor New England - ONE, a Jackson Kayak Gnarvana is on the line. Hope folks are getting those practice laps in. For those of you not gunning for first place (like Ray Barbera Bob Frederick and Emrick Blanchette), all racers have a chance to win a new NRS drysuit.

Good news: Thanks to some late season storms there is plenty of snow on the ground (and maybe more to come next week).

Less good news: The end of next week is looking cold, especially Friday night. We are watching the weather and will make a call Wednesday about whether to move the race to the following Saturday (April 13). Please check our Facebook and Instagram pages for updates.

As folks are getting their practice laps in and showing up to the race tomorrow a few things to keep in mind. Be sure your vehicle is parked completely off the road. The church parking lot should not be used on weekends. Pack it in, pack it out. See you tomorrow!
