It was a beautiful afternoon for a biplane ride! We closed shop at 2pm and drove to the Kelch Aviation Museum and Brodhead Airport for Jeremy and Max to go on a biplane ride with http://www.gypsyairtours.com. Max gave his thumbs up approval.

Brodhead is the southern terminus of the Sugar River State Trail where you can enjoy a lovely hike or bike ride. Grab a delicious grilled cheese or pick up some award winning havarti from the local Decatur Dairy. Enjoy a unique, open cockpit biplane ride flying out of the Brodhead airport with Gypsy Air Tours including a birdseye view of the orchard and maze. Flights are available October 16 - 18 and require a reservation.

Local legend Jeanne Scholes, our favorite 92-year-old pilot and the first woman pilot to fly out of Brodhead Airport, took a ride with Josh in his Waco Taperwing! Perfect late summer flying weather.

Jeanne is a regular at the museum - she even has a designated parking space! We're honored to collaborate with Josh & Kerryann's biplane rides business, Gypsy Air Tours, which brings the Golden Age of Aviation thrillingly to life.

FUNDRAISING UPDATE: Holy cow, what a week! We put the word out of the looming challenge grant deadline and people from all over the country have stepped up! Nearly $15,000 in new donations in the past three days! But we still have more to go.

The 2018 portion of the William S. Knight Foundation challenge grant is $123,333, and as of right now, we still need $32,284 by December 31st in order to receive the full match. Your support is critical! Donate now and help us build a fantastic new aviation museum facility. It'll have banquet space and educational facilities, plus at least 19 vintage aircraft on display.

Help us continue the legacy of John Kaminsky, the youngest aviator in the world when this photo was taken in 1916, and help educate a new generation of young aviators.
