It’s almost the weekend! We’re dreaming about cooling off in this little watering hole. Our property includes most of it, so when you’re visiting be sure to walk up the road a bit and you’ll run right into it. Perfect for curious littles and adventurous adults alike!

I love a good before and after. The Drake was much loved before we were lucky enough to purchase, but needed a little re-fresh. This room is one of our favorites because of the tall ceilings and big windows. It feels grand and welcoming. A canopy bed was a must. I wanted to tie in the teal that runs throughout the house so the coverlet and artwork were great finds. Ceiling fan, because summer and some updated lighting really rounded out the space. Before we touched the inside, we started hunting down a playscape for the property. Where to purchase, how to get it here, who would install it. As it turns out, not the easiest process. But with three littles five and under, it was a must for us! 6am wake up call on vacation? To the playscape kids, so mom and dad can have at least three sips of hot coffee from the deck.

We fell in love with the cabin’s exterior in photos before even walking the property. There are so many beautiful styles of cabin out there, but we appreciated the clean lines and classic warmth of this traditional look. The 1,200 square feet of covered outdoor space didn’t hurt either!

Pro tips to beat the heat: 1.) Get up early (you’re probably traveling with littles so you’re up anyway) 2.) Hike first thing, like before 9am and take in nature waking for the day 3.) Grab breakfast after bonding with nature 4.) Return for indoor games in the HEAT of the day 5.) Family nap, because you’re on 6.) Back outside after the sun is setting for dinner and end with s’mores around the fire in the dark! We have all the games you need to stay cool and fresh while you wait out the blazing summer afternoon ☀️

A quintessential part of the Broken Bow experience? S’mores of course! Does anything evoke more fond memories than a freshly made s’more. We don’t think so. Even with the summer heat, wait for that sun to go down and get that fire going. Maybe just sit back a little further 😂
