Dear friends and past guests, we’d like to thank you for staying in our beautiful cabin over the last year and a half. Unfortunately a terrible tragedy happened the early morning of December 10th and Tranquil Timber’s burned down completely. There’s nothing left of our 2nd home besides rubble and ash. The guests staying noticed a lot of smoking and smelled burning from the grill around 10:30pm after using it. They claim they turned it off. However they did not notify us nor the fire department for assistance. By 4:30am the house was on fire, guests escaped uninjured, and by the time Broken Bow fire department arrived after 5am the house was completely engulfed and a total loss. Many neighboring cities fire departments responded to control the fire from making its way through the forest and taking out other cabins. It was a full fledged effort by so many. I’m thankful no lives or other properties were lost. However I am very angry at renters who cared so little about my property and ignored the grill issues to continue to party with their friends past 2am. The grill had to have been left on to continue to heat up and finally catch fire. We are sorting through insurance and hoping we have enough funds to rebuild. For now, we will hold this place in our hearts and family memories. ❤️
