Spring Break is in full swing! Let’s remember to be smart, and use fire 🔥 safety!

Whats' the fastest way to ruin Spring Break in a dry and windy Oklahoma?

This is the reason we are urging everyone taking part in recreation around our beautiful state over the next week or so to exercise EXTREME caution out there. Be mindful, use common sense, and take precautions when doing ANYTHING that could potentially spark a wildfire. Once a fire gets started it could be very difficult to put out.

Charcoal grills, campfires, welding over any ground that could catch fire, chains dragging on pavement, fireworks and cigarette butts, prescribed/intentional burning – all of these should be avoided at all costs while we continue to experience this warm and very dry weather ahead of the springtime green-up.

We particularly want to send this message to our friends around Hochatown, Oklahoma and Beavers Bend State Park where open fires are quite popular with a large number of vacationers this time of year. Please – DON'T.
