We have a cancellation for the AAPRCO Sugar train Express. The dates are from April 19 to May 2. The trip is from Chicago to miami round trip. Looking for a low cost trip with fabulous viewing? Starting in Chicago heading west on the Empire Builder. Wisconsin is beautiful. Once we reach the Mississippi River we follow it north to Minneapolis. After being rocked to sleep, waking to the smell of cinnamon rolls, or blueberry bread and fresh coffee is a joy. Reaching East Glacier National Park and the Rocky mountains is awesome. Snaking our way through the mountains to Whitefish is fabulous with the Flathead river 100 feet below in some spots. The train splits in Spokane a few hours later. We continue on to Portland at the rear of the train arriving in the morning. This train turns the same day and departs in the afternoon heading east hooking up with the other half arriving from Seattle. If we went to Seattle we would be behind the locomotive for 5 days. Instead we go to Portland and get to be rearmost. Another day of mountain viewing as we head for the high plains and more scrumptious meals. The next morning finds us arriving in Minneapolis following the river south to Wisconsin and the rolling hills. Chicago comes quickly in the afternoon. A 5 day run, 4500 miles, and 7 states.
