Since Covid (kinda tired of that phrase but…) I’ve had more calls asking for yoga. For some of us it took a worldwide pandemic to make us research what is best for our overall health: mind, body and spirit. The answer? YOGA! It increases the immune system’s strength by lowering our stress and increasing the flow of oxygenated blood to our vital organs (including the brain and spine). If you’ve never tried it, NOW is the time! If you are a veteran yogi, athlete or gym rat, you’ll love this class, too! See you on your mat on 4/13! 🧘🏻‍♀️♥️

Hey yallllll! If we never start back, guess what? We never start back! That’s not going to work for me (nor my hips, low back and aching neck)! I hope you’ll join me as we re-discover the luscious practice of YOGA! This class will be for EVERYBODY and EVERY. BODY. You don’t have to be able to touch your toes to come. Going to make this short and sweet, as I’m already tearing up. After 8 amazing years, Stillwater Studio business is closing. Tomorrow I give the keys to a new tenant and business. Hopefully, I’ll be teaching somewhere soon and will announce that. THANK YOU to all of my loyal and loving students who came at the crack of dawn or after long days at work to receive whatever we could offer them. I will forever be so humbled and grateful for our time together. Namaste and God Bless. ♥️🙏🏼

Praying for instructors to join the Stillwater Studio team. Yoga, Pilates, Aerobics, HIIT, Kickboxing, Dance… You will be your own boss and conduct your own classes, schedule, pricing and marketing. Right now, we are the only Christian based Yoga Studio in the state of Mississippi. Safe for Christians to practice yoga and never be led to believe in false truths. I opened 8 years ago on the belief that Yoga restores the human: mind, body and soul. Taking time for yourself and your Spirit (the Holy Spirit I side of you) is more important than anything and deepens your daily life experience. Join us this week on Friday morning at 9:00 am for our newest addition to our schedule at Stillwater Studio. You got it- it’s Barre! Kathy Swalm, ballerina and ballet instructor of 30+ years brings a new workout that will lengthen, strengthen and tone your entire body while teaching ballet basics and proper posture. She will offer this class on Thursday mornings at 9:00 am beginning next week and throughout the summer. DM or text me to register!

Through tear-filled eyes I post this beautiful photo of Angie to let the yogis of Stillwater know that our beloved instructor has passed on to glory. There are no perfect words to say when we lose a friend so suddenly. The details of her passing are still unclear. Visitation is at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Avenue tomorrow (March 25th) from 1:00-2:00 pm with service to follow. For now, I want all to take a moment to remember Angie’s beautiful light and share it with you if I could be so privileged.

✨I called her “Sunshine”. God brought her to Stillwater Studio at the perfect time, as He does. She was accepting of EVERY part of me that I ever shared with her and without judgement. In my hardest days, she was a caring smile, warm embrace, supportive cheerleader and a REAL friend. Angie didn’t let me get away with surface updates, she wanted to know the real struggles and/or joys that I was experiencing and would ask the right questions to get there. ♥️I think one of my favorite things about Angie was that no topic was “off limits”. Once you were her friend, you could discuss anything! She was there to share your burdens, whatever they may be. She was a cancer survivor and a divorce survivor and we shared those experiences as part of our stories. She helped me believe that God was in control and had a beautiful story to tell through my life. I now have the honor to tell the beautiful story about her life.

🧘🏻‍♀️Her son Nick told me yesterday that “when she found yoga, she found herself again.” She was the perfect example of coming to your mat as you are and accepting your practice and your body just as it is. Angie’s body had been through cancer and treatments to heal the cancer twice and it left her with slight misalignments, stiff joints and areas where she had to modify her practice. That didn’t stop her! If only we could follow in her example and show up for ourselves and for others as Sunshine Angie did! I am forever grateful for her contribution at Stillwater Studio. I ask that you join me in celebrating her life of strength, JOY, and love.
