Most members of this group already know about the resurrection—after a 10 year break—of the Old Fashion Grass Field Fly-in at Moontown Sep 21. But here’s some new info that might interest you. The late George Myers, who was the original creator of the OFGFFI left a huge collection of aviation books, magazines, pictures, pins, models, posters and other assorted collectibles. There will be a die cast model of a P-51 signed by Bob Hoover; a metal model of the Bell X-1 signed by Yeager; a wooden propeller clock in pristine condition; a poster signed by Eddie Rickenbacker and books signed by authors. George’s leather A-2 jacket (XL) will be also auctioned. There are hundreds of items and you are going to see one or more that you want. Prices will be marked. The more valuable pieces will go by silent auction. The proceeds will go to EAA 190 at Moontown. We are not planning an online auction. We are going old school. We’ll issue a you bidder number and you can mark it on the item bid sheet with your bid. The sale will start at 0900 and is planned to be held in the FBO office. Bring cash or check, but we will accept cards also. For specifics, PM me.

Lots of firsts today! Meet the FAAs newest Private Helicopter Pilot, Wyatt Barrett. The FAAs newest Rotorcraft Helicopter Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE ) Timothy Knueven. And Wyatt was Dave’s First FAA student sign off as a CFI.

Today was a busy day! Meet the FAAs newest Commercial Helicopter Pilot, Helicopter Instrument Pilot, and Private Stuckwing Pilot

The cool part of the story, Nile started flying 23T 6 years ago in Texas, the plane was landed hard and damaged by another student. I purchased it from the insurance company, repaired it and got it airworthy. Two years ago I get a phone call from Nile asking if I was the owner, he had gotten a job with Blue Origin and was living in Huntsville. I knew that day I wanted him to complete his training in that aircraft. It took a while of fighting weather, but he finally got his ride completed today.

I just wanted to take a minute to congratulate and compliment this beautiful young lady. Dana Elizabeth McDonald is waking up to start her new position as an Education Program Director, a position with Vandy. It’s because of her hard work, focus and dedication to her career, and the fact she perused her Masters in public Health while working full time that she is where she is.

She is an amazing woman that can bake like no one I know and is super creative with her ideas and flavors she bakes.

It’s the mood swings, pouting and temper tantrums that she puts up with from me, as well as my crazy schedules, helping to tame the two wild heathens and long days that make her truly amazing and the reason I love her most-estister.

Have a great fist day at the new gig today babe. We will celebrate when you get back home.
