We stopped in at a pita bread bakery and received a friendly welcome from these busy bakers. Pita with a variety of toppings such as cheese, thyme and I olive oil, eggs etc., is popular for breakfast and as a tasty snack.

Met this oil palm plantation worker loading his pickup with palm fruit. He said each cluster weighs about 25-30kg. When he’s done loading the mound of fruit will reach well above the siding on his truck! All done without even a shoulder pad, wow! Palm oil is made from squeezing the interior soft/fleshy fruit, and palm kernel oil which comes from crushing the hard kernel, or the stone found in the middle of the fruit. It’s use is often criticized for being unhealthy to consume, but has many other uses.

A Zen moment. Actually these are Tibetan prayer flags l that were left near the top of Snowmass ski resort in Colorado. And as they were fluttering in a light breeze I took a moment to pause and pay respects to the great peace activist and Vietnamese Thiền Buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hahn who passed away recently. * #zen #prayerflags #tibetanbuddhism #thiền #thichnhathanh ☸️☮️🕊🙏🏼❤️
