Started a new sport in 2024 - Benchrest Rifle Competition with International Benchrest which runs competition all over the world. A perfect score in accuracy is a 250 plus 25 bullseye. You shoot 'Clean" if you get a 250. Matches are timed.

I shoot accuracy using a special 6PPC caliber Rifle. In Maine we shoot at 100, 200, and 300 yd distances. Last month I competed in my first National Benchrest Competition at 200 and 300 yds. I had fired at 200 yds in practice twice and competition once. I never shot 300 yds. I shot ok, but I learned and I tried.

Yesterday I competed at 100 yds. I shot clean for the very first time! In fact I shot a 250 plus 5. If you count my warm up target, I shot a 300 plus 8. Now the hard work is before me. Done it once, now do it again and again and again! The challenge is on!

The support from other competitors is amazing! So glad that I expanded my horizon.
