We are a mountain resort with an on-site hiking trail that leads to a fun playground and gorgeous Eco-park that features a waterfall, trout pond, and picnic area. We have a common area with a magnificent mounta

in view as backdrop to a bocce ball court, corn hole board, community fire pit, and sunset bed swing. If you manage to leave the property, you are only minutes from all the area attractions including whitewater rafting at the Nantahala Outdoor Center, boating on Fontana Lake, mountain biking at Tsali, hiking on the Appalachian Trail, or sightseeing from the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. Adult fun and great food is a short drive to neighboring Cherokee, NC at Harrah's Cherokee Casino, and more activities than you can mention are within a hour (the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC is just a start). Watershed Resort makes a perfect basecamp to enjoy all the Smokey Mountains have to offer.

The comet last night - In normal times I’m one of the luckiest photographers alive. We get a visit from something like this comet and I can drive an hour and capture an image in one of the most beautiful settings on the planet. But those roads are closed/destroyed right now, so here it is from my roof last night. It’s actually scary up there, especially at night (don’t worry, I am extremely careful about it), so I hope some people enjoy this image even if it’s not my most preferred way to capture it. Still something amazing to see, for which I remain grateful.

It will be out tonight! The full moon will make it difficult to see with your eye, but try a phone photo looking west half an hour after sunset to help you locate it.
