It’s good to be back in the mountains. A little snowshoe scouting trip with and . I didn’t realize how close to the Pacific Crest Trail we were (even though I should have). Conditions were perfect with a light dusting of snow.

So much wildlife to see . From the mountain goats to the pika. I must admit, the American Pika is one of my favorites. They are related to rabbits (not rodents) and did you know they don’t hibernate in the winter? Instead they use underground tunnels to get to their food caches. We often hear then before we see them with a distinct short, high pitched call.

Meet our professional guides - Josh and Sophia . Josh has guided extensively in National Parks across the West; Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Yosemite, Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, Arches and Badlands. Adding Mount Rainier to the list was a check off the bucket list.

Sophia founded Adventures In Seattle in 2017 and has spent much of her life exploring the Cascade Mountains. Her international adventures have led her to Mongolia, South Africa, Lesotho and Patagonia. Her favorite story to tell is about losing her horse on the steppes of Mongolia…not once, but twice!

Our hiking season on Mount Rainier is fast approaching and you can win a guided hiking trip for you and two friends on Mount Rainier this summer!
