The Lafayette Hotel is located in Lafayette Square in downtown Buffalo and the architectural design is of the French Renaissance style. Originally, a portrait of General Lafayette, a hero from the Revolutionary War who visited Buffalo in 1825, stood in the lobby to welcome guests.
