Hello everyone.
I've done my best this year and I'm proud of how well it went....but I can't keep up the pace anymore. I'm switching to long term renting with a property management company but still open for horse boarding (currently full though). I've loved hosting all of our guests and sharing the animals with you. Hopefully one day I'll have the freedom to do this again. Thank you for all of your support this year, it means the world to me. These are the only remaining dates this year and I'm only charging for a cleaning fee, No matter the length of stay. Come see me.

Morning Mantra: “It takes as much energy to wish as it does to plan.”

There are dreamers and there are planners- the planners are the ones who make their dreams come true. Most people just waste their time and energy wishing they could achieve their dreams but those that truly want to reach a goal start with a plan.

Achieving anything begins with the idea (or dream), then breaking it down into actionable steps. Steps that you can achieve and will actually do. Many times we make our plan and the steps are too big. Any movement in the right direction- no matter how small, will be enough of a reward to keep you motivated to take another step.

Dreams without actions are just that- dreams. Dreams with a plan create change in you. You begin to believe in yourself. You don’t let fear create doubt. You gain strength and tenacity. What you get when you reach your goal is not as important as what you become during the process.

We're hosting our 2nd foster family this weekend and watching their 5 adopted boys playing football in the front yard, climbing trees, playing on the Zipline, and just enjoying the space made me so happy 🥰 We're booked up a lot already! I still have 2 weeks in May, 2 weeks in June available, but don't wait too long, book your stay before it's full! Also if you know a deserving foster family please send me their name and phone number and I'll add them to the list.

It's giveaway time!!! The people I'm currently hosting have inspired me to give back and find more people like them, so if you know of a family of foster kids/adopted from foster care who would like a free weekend getaway at the ranch, please send me a PM with their name and contact info and I'm going to draw names regularly. Every name goes into a jar and I will keep drawing from the jar once a month until every single family gets a weekend getaway. This is part of my calling and it will continue for as long as there are foster families who want to visit the ranch. Picture of my beautiful ranch hand Eva Marie for attention.

Edited to add: The River Ranch is right outside of Wilmington NC so please just make sure whoever you add to the list is willing to drive this far for a mini vacation! I've got 10 families in the jar, I'll keep reposting this whenever the jar is empty, please follow my page!

Very casually looking to add 1 boarder who wouldn't mind if I occasionally did walk/trot lessons for guests once or twice a month on their horse. Horse must be at least 15.2h, older and dead broke type. Would never canter. I have a horse for this already but it would be nice to have 1 more. Something to keep in mind if you're looking for board in the coming year.

Any conscious attempt by us to engineer or plan our own enlightenment is doomed to failure because it will be ego driven. We will try to “succeed” during our failure and try to control our times of discontent.

We must remember that unexpected weaknesses, failure, and humiliation force us to go where we never would otherwise. To grow, we must stumble and be brought to our knees by reality.

We must be willing to be out of the driver’s seat for a while, or we will never learn how to give up control and accept life as it comes. To relinquish the need to control every outcome, every emotion, every relationship and to give that power to a higher one.

Can I just say how thankful I am that I get to share this place with people?

We keep getting more bookings every week and the calendar is filling up!! The guests we have from Florida are enjoying their first experience on a farm this weekend and we can't wait to meet the next group checking in on Weds! This has just filled me with joy seeing people loving my farm and the animals 🥰❤️❤️❤️
