That was so much fun! Two days in a row of surprise hot air balloon inflation and glows. You can put a hot air balloon in some pretty small spaces…even a pier on Lake Washington. How cool would a hot air balloon be at your next event? Thanks again to the team at @hyattlakewash for partnering with us to create this experience on the pier! There was actually a wedding on the 3rd floor, and they got the opportunity to have a balloon in some of their wedding photos!

Give a big gift this year. Maybe start with a gift certificate to fly before buying your own 225,000 cubic foot balloon.

Happy Montgolfier Day! We may not carry Dom anymore, but we still carry high quality champagne on all our flights to give to landowners and share with guests. It’s a tradition that has been going on for 241 years! See the link to the full story in the first comment.
Thank you to all our wonderful landowners in our flying area in Enumclaw, Auburn, and Seattle. We appreciate you giving us wonderful places to take off and land!
Note: Yes! We spent some good time and made this video with Ai and then used some voice overs and editing. Although we think a Lego balloon movie would be pretty fun.

Had a wonderful flight today taking passengers during the weekend of the Great Prosser Balloon Rally. Only 2 spots left for tomorrow’s flight!
People often wonder about the difference between a commercial hot air balloon used for tours and a racing balloon used in competitions. The main distinction is in speed—racing balloons can ascend and descend much faster, allowing pilots to make rapid altitude changes.
For comparison, a typical commercial balloon for tours ascends at a maximum rate of 800-1000 feet per minute and descends at 950-1150 feet per minute. Racing balloons, however, can ascend at up to 1600 feet per minute and descend at up to 1800 feet per minute. It’s like comparing a Ferrari to an F1 car in terms of performance.
This video shows one of our racing balloons during the World Championship in Europe last week, where we made a rapid descent from 8,000 feet to hit a target. This is a safe and normal descent. Pretty wild.

We have two pilots competing at US Women’s Nationals this week (currently in 2nd and 3rd place!), and two of our pilots competing at the World championship in Sept in Europe. So proud of our team! Time to bring home some gold.
