I am very excited to announce that Michael Musso has officially joined the New Destinations Travel team as a travel advisor. Many of you know I have been trying to convince my husband for some time now to join me in the business. He has finally embraced his natural tendency to research the destinations we visit and impart the knowledge gained, now using his superpower to benefit our clients. Michael is particularly interested in helping those travelers seeking more adventurous itineraries and those looking to enjoy the wine and cuisine of various cultures. Packing for a long trip this summer? Here are a few tips for saving some space in your suitcase.
➡️ An age-old trick but still one of the best: Replace bulky clothing with lightweight items, and wear layers to the airport.
➡️ Use vacuum-sealed bags. You can even find bags that don’t require a pump.
➡️ Only bring what you’ll need. Transfer medicines, shampoos, etc. to smaller containers.
➡️ If you’re traveling with others, plan ahead to determine who will bring outlet adapters, first aid items, etc.

Tip for Travelers: Public Transportation. Always be aware of your surroundings, but consider taking the subway, a bus, or a local railway in your next destination. Sure, Uber and Lyft are convenient and fairly affordable, depending on the area and time of day—but don't miss out on those unique experiences like “Mind the gap” in the London Underground or speeding through the streets of Bangkok in a Tuk Tuk.
Visiting France this summer? The Festival of Giants in Douai, France, will entertain you and the entire family!
