"Pictures do not do this home justice!
From booking to leaving, Karen was definitely very responsive and very helpful. This place is very secluded and absolutely beautiful! So clean, the beds are comfortable, Bathrooms are roomy. There is a beautiful home across the water which is the closest thing to you. If you're a runner the roads around this home are great for morning runs, absolutely beautiful views. We stopped in Boone to get groceries and everything we needed for the weekend. There is a spice rack above the mircowave, and I was blind but finally found the cutting boards that were next to the microwave. Absolutely love the set up of this home the upstairs bedroom is very roomy, and for someone who maybe needed to bring a portable crib there are areas in both of the bedrooms that would fit one perfectly. The skylights in this home and all the windows just keep you looking outside there are blinds in the ones in the upstair bedroom and I kept them open the whole time to watch the sky. We didn't turn the TV on once, we did make use of the Vizio soundbar which puts off amazing sound. The kitchen fit two of us comfortably while while we were cooking. This place is great for a romantic and a family getaway from everything. There is wifi, and Karen provided a link to monitor our usage. But no cell service for Verizon but I had sprint and had service on the couch, porch, and near windows . From sunrise to sunset there were amazing views. The porch has gates all around to keep furbabies or womb nuggets from going off to the front of the home or down the steps to the water. Even with the water level low right now, this place was a gem! I definitely recommend exploring the area a little, as it is a photographers "unicorn" of an area. We went down to the Watauga Rec Area and it would be an excellent place for family photos, as well as down by the water at this home. Next time we will definitely bring a boat and more people with us, since we do plan on going ahead and setting up to come back when it starts to warm up. I'm a review reader, so I like to give the details I normally want to know! This place is great for all ages! Excellent prices for this home."

Our latest review - people are loving this house as much as we do!

"We had an awesome time at the property. It is clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pans, utensils. The deck provided a great place to relax, eat, read, watercolor, play cards, and just sit and enjoy the view.

We spent most of our time outside, but even while inside we could enjoy the view of the lake. We also loved the natural interior of the chalet. The wood and stone work are very nice. The stairs to the lake make it easy to access, no scrambling down the hillside. We took the kayaks out multiple times. Fish were jumping every morning.

Even tho there is no cell reception at the property, the owner (Karen) provided a phone, and there is internet access. We let our family know the number so they could reach us if needed. They did contact us, and the call came thru with no problem. Karen was very responsive to my email questions, and called at check in to make sure all was well. The posted pictures are exactly what you get, a great cabin and great views. We will definitely consider staying again if we return to the area!!"

Watauga Lake Experience

Twisting Falls is an impressive site. Swimming holes located at the top and bottom of a 30-40 foot waterfall. You can slide off the waterfall and take a 30 foot plunge into the lower pool. The upper pool is lined with cliffs where people can jump from heights ranging from about 10-40 feet.

Found a great 4 mile out and back hike and bagged two waterfalls: Elk River Falls and Jones River falls. And my dog takes a great selfie!
