🏠Silo Farmhouse Design/Build Ever wonder about the design/build process behind our award-winning Modern Farmhouse🧐? From architectural renderings 📋 to floor plans, and design challenges 🚧, take a look at the design and build of this 4,500 sq. ft custom, lakefront home! Here are some key features of this custom home: 🔑The Maryland property boasts 30 buildable acres.🔑The existing house was demolished because the existing well couldn’t support both houses.🔑The new home was situated to allow for better exposure and views of the private lake from each room.🔑An integrated silo in the front of the home offers an authentic farmhouse feel, housing a winding staircase.🔑Steel framing gives the silo the stability needed.🔑The winding staircase inside the silo was fabricated in 3 separate sections given the challenge to lift them into a tight space. The final staircase design is a signature architectural element in the new home.

How do we keep a large home cozy and comfortable? Anthony Wilder tells the Washington Post, “We deliberately designed this house with high ceilings that aren’t too high. These are about 10 feet high. Ceilings that are 12 feet would be too tall and create an echo.” He adds, “One-level living is becoming increasingly popular with our clients.”What do you think of this custom home🖤
