First Electric Cooperative Corporation has a job opening for a Dispatcher in the Jacksonville area.

Please note that this job posting requires weekend work, rotating weekly work schedule, 12-hour shifts on the weekends, possibility of working morning, mid-day and midnight shifts and must be able to work unscheduled overtime (such as storms).

Information on a warming station in Cabot.

The City of Cabot has opened a Warming Center to provide support to community members who may need it. The center will open today (Feb 18) at 9:00 AM and remain open until Saturday, February 22 at Noon (12:00pm).

2102 S 2nd St, Cabot

Please be aware of the following guidelines:
No alcohol or drugs allowed 🚫
No pets (Service Dogs Only) 🐾
No leaving and returning (Overnight)
No intoxicated individuals allowed

Cabot Police will be conducting periodic check-ins to ensure everyone's safety and well-being.

Feed the Veterans food pantry will be closed Thursday, but will instead open on Saturday at 9:00am.

With the impending winter weather, let’s help our community and shop local. While you are preparing to possibly be stuck at home for a few days, plan to visit our local, small businesses today and get your necessities. Grab some to go heat and eat meals, get some gift cards that you can use at a later date. Get some new winter wear at some local boutiques, to be ready for the brutal temperatures that are coming this week. Maybe grab some pottery to paint at home. When these small businesses are forced to close, for even a day, it has a huge impact on that company AND the family that owns that store, restaurant or business. Let’s rally behind our community now and after the winter weather. They need us more than ever in times like this. Support and shop local!!!!

Yesterday was our Economic Development day for our Youth Leadership Council. They heard from Dr. Byrd with the Cabot Public School District, Mayor Ken Kincade, and Alicia Payseno, both with the City Of Cabot, Tami Davis with The TAMI DAVIS Team- PorchLight Realty , and Mallory McFall with the Arkansas Economic Development Commission. They all explained what impact economic development has in their specific areas of expertise. There were tons of questions asked from the group, and they all left with some great information.
