We want to give a BIG THANKS to Historic Cave Spring Georgia for hosting today’s meeting for the Travel Association. Marley took us to the cave and on a walking tour of downtown. There’s so much history here and a lot of amazing shops.

Next month will be the Georgia Governor's Tourism Conference in Atlanta on September 15-17. Members please make plans to register for this. See you there!

We want to give a big Thank You to Murray County Chamber of Commerce for hosting todays meeting for the Travel Association. We had a great crowd to join us today. Barry and his wonderful staff took us on a walking tour of downtown Chatsworth so we could see the revitalization of their downtown district. We got to experience their unique shops like the Red Eyed Rooster Co. Next months meeting will be in Cave Springs (Floyd County) on August 14, 2024. Members and prospective members - make plans to join us next month! See you there!

We want to give a big Thank You to Only in Cartersville-Bartow for hosting todays meeting for the Travel Association. We had a great crowd to join us today. Meredith and Lilly took us on a walking tour to see Art of Bartow and Friendship Plaza and went into some really cool shops like Tis the Season. Light Up McCaysville: Celebrating Independence Day

The City of McCaysville proudly continues the annual tradition of "Light Up McCaysville", in honor of America's Independence. Join us for a weekend filled with festivities, as you shop, dine, and unwind!

1. Annual Fishing Rodeo at Toccoa River Park
- Date: Saturday, June 29th
- Time: 9:00 am to 12:00 PM
- Lunch provided at 11:00 AM
- Bring the children and enjoy fishing by the river!

2. Independence Day Parade
- Date: Saturday, June 29th
- Parade start time: 1:00 PM
- Parade lineup on East Tn Ave, at 12:15 PM
- Experience the vibrant parade celebrating our nation's freedom!

3. Great American Rodeo
- Dates: Friday, June 28th and Saturday, June 29th
- Location: Field on West Tn Ave
- Gates open at 6:00 PM
- Show starts at 7:30 PM

4. Fireworks Display
- Date: Saturday, June 29th
- Time: Sunset, between 9:00 PM and 9:30 PM
- Gather after the parade to witness a spectacular fireworks show, illuminating our city.

Important Notes:
- This event would not be possible without the generous support from individual volunteers, business sponsors, the City of McCaysville, McCaysville Business Association, and the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce.
- Expect traffic delays due to the festivities—plan accordingly.
- FREE parking available in the large field across from Toccoa River Park (access via E Tennessee Ave).
- Look out for posted parking signs.
- For everyone's safety, downtown McCaysville roads will be closed for 15-20 minutes during the parade at 1:00 PM
- Show patience and kindness to our staff and officers—they appreciate the 'Southern Hospitality' that defines our riverside community.
- Have a safe and fun time with family and friends!

Cartersville-Bartow will be our host. We will meet at Noble & Main, 145 W. Main Street, Cartersville, GA. Park in the downtown parking deck located on Main Street, just one block south of Noble & Main.
11:30a - 12:20p: Walking tour to showcase Art in Bartow, Friendship Plaza, downtown AAHT sites and a few of their favorite specialty shops.
12:20p - Lunch proved by Only in Cartersville-Bartow - catered by Nagel's Bagels at the Hay Parker Loft.
17 Hikes Featured Trail: Pine Mountain Trail East.

Did you know that among the three federally recognized Cherokee tribes, the Baptist Church has the highest number of members among any religious denomination? Come to the "Tinsawattee" lecture at Shorter University's Brookes Chapel at 7pm this Thursday to learn more about the origins and history of Cherokee Baptist identity!!!
