The Finger Lakes region has a rich history to celebrate during Black History Month.

We want to take a special moment to honor the rich cultural contributions of Black Americans and their profound impact on shaping our FLX community. Not only have the Finger Lakes been home to influential figures like Frederick Douglass and Mary Burnett Talbert, Ontario County honors important landmarks like the 1816 Farmington Quaker Meeting House and the Underground Railroad. These sites commemorate the legacies of abolitionists and civil rights leaders who shaped history.
