The Pisgah Ranger district is open! US 276 and trails in the Ranger District are open to all users (including seasonal trails for cyclists). Please note that not all trails have been cleared or fully inspected by forest service. You may encounter landslides, altered trail surfaces, debris, and fallen trees. Use at your own risk and plan accordingly!⁠

Avery Creek Road, Yellow Gap Road, Headwaters Road, and the Northern part of Cathy's Creek Road remain closed to vehicle traffic until repairs can be made. This opening only applies to trails in the Ranger district. The Appalachian and Grandfather districts remain closed at this time.⁠

The Blue Ridge Parkway is now open in our area! It’s the perfect time to come see the beauty of fall colors in the mountains! Haywood county is recovering from the effects of the recent hurricane and our small businesses welcome you and depend on seasonal visitors to help them stay open. Many of these businesses are donating time and resources to those in our community who were affected by Hurricane Helene. Western NC has strong, proud, community minded people who are quick to help each other. The Pisgah Ranger district in Pisgah National Forest has many great hiking trails open. Downtown Waynesville is perfect for dining and shopping for locally made gifts. Maggie Valley has weekend festivals, shops and dining. Biltmore House will be opening on November 3rd for the holiday season. Come make some memories while relaxing in a beautiful home with 5 star amenities and help our area come back strong!
