Park Alert: Due to the rain we are receiving and the chance of receiving more this afternoon, the trail system is closed. We will update on conditions.

When we close trails it’s to protect the public and help stop/prevent erosion. Erosion not only comes from the rain but our boots collecting all our beautiful red soil on them and displacing it elsewhere. Thank you for understanding and helping us protect our resources for future generations to enjoy.

***Park Alert***
Due to Randall County Commissioner's Court enacting a County wide Burn Ban, Palo Duro Canyon State Park is now operating under a Burn Ban. Reminder, no wood, charcoal, or pellet fires allowed. Containerized fuel devices with a shutoff valve are okay for use.

Park Alert: Trails and Roadways are all officially open.

Thank you all for patiently waiting it's greatly appreciated. Our resources here in the park loved the rain we received. With a total of 3.37" our wildflowers will do wonderful this year!

Thank you to everyone that has reached out asking if we are OK with the tragic fires in the pan handle. The resort is located south of the fires, with the prevailing winds it is not been directed toward our area. We are watching closely, but all in all we are safe - this type of event reminds us why we are very strict in regard to outside open fires.

The only way to enjoy the canyon views is in luxury with a large private patio, soaking in a hot tub with no one else around, private security gated entrance. Fortress cabin is 2 bed / 2 bath, large living area with a wood burning fireplace. large kitchen and a propane grill outside for cooking those steaks.
