More About Me Monday -Why Did I Become an Agent?

If you asked me why I chose to become an agent, this picture says everything you need to know.

I gave up the yacht club lifestyle in FL to come home to Jersey. Turns out, I am not a very good lady who lunches (but I need to play more tennis)!

Did You Know: The US Navy established Naval Air Station Cape May in 1917.

The air station housed seaplanes and dirigibles (blimps) used to patrol our coasts and waterways.

Operational through both World War I and World War II, the Navy transferred the base to the US Coast Guard in 1946.

More About Me Monday

In honor of National Sons Day, here's a homage to mine.

Connor, my favorite redhead, was born during his father's deployment in 2004. Military brat for life.

He moved way more than he should and is just blowing life out of the water, and I can't take one bit of credit. Smarter than anyone has a right to be, kind, motivated, and hardworking - he is doing life his way, and I love it.

He was the 2022 Farmer's Scholarship recipient at Florida Tech and is currently in his sophomore year juggling school and an internship at Larsen Motorsports.

He spent the last summer working at Harry's of Cape May, and he is excited to be back for another go this summer. Be sure to stop by and say 'hi'.

He is one of the three reasons why I do what I do.

If you asked the young me which would never happen - I would have said #3 100% of the time.

I never thought I had what it took to even think about building something of my own, let alone go out and do it.

Did you know that Cape May was once home to horse racing?

Cape May Driving Park, located in West Cape May, opened in 1888, and over 100 thoroughbreds raced that day.

The track didn't last long - a casualty to politics, the rise of baseball and a broken promise of a rail connection to Cape May City, the park closed a mere two years later.

Remnants of the track can be seen in aerial photographs by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1933, and was located where Sunset Blvd, Columbia Ave, Fourth Ave, and Stevens Street are today.
