On April 14, the day before the Boston marathon, Corey will be do a 26.2 mile “ruck”to honor America’s fallen military and first responders! For those of you who don’t know what a ruck is, he will hike/run the marathon course for 26.2 miles with a 35-40lb backpack. (Wow!) His mission is to raise funds to support the families of fallen soldiers, police officers, firefighters, and EMTs. Please consider helping Corey!

What a gorgeous day on the St. Lawrence! I don’t think we will head out for a boat ride, but the view is still beautiful! (We will attach some more pics in the comments.)

It’s a very different look from last January, but the winter view from Carleton View is always beautiful! The water is crystal clear and “almost” looks nice enough for a swim…almost.

Here are a few pictures from today. It was -35 this morning (with wind chill) and very windy for much of last night, hence the frozen spray. Beautiful sunshine this morning!

We love the River in all seasons, and know that our CarletonView friends like to see these unique winter images.

The sunset tonight over Carleton is especially beautiful! We love the deep colors and it keeps getting better as the sky darkens! The river is still, the air is crisp, and it is so quiet. This is why we come to CarletonView!

For those interested in such things, check out the ice growth in less than 24 hours. Yesterday, the extent was just past the local docks. Today the ice extends halfway across to Carleton Island. It appears fairly thick, but also broken up due to wave action...no strolls on the river for anyone anytime soon!
