Bought my very first New Mexico wine producing Grapevine today.
In Alto at a gentleman who has a vineyard high up in the mountains.
It’s 4 years old.
Called Chambourcin.
French American Hybrid grape.
It is a medium bodied dry -black cherry, red fruit, herbaceous notes, black pepper, and even chocolate.
It can withstand cold up to-10’
It is very hardy.
The heat is good /Very close to the sun because of elevation - this varietal likes hot.
Due to droughts you need a well with lots of water.
Fencing to keep all the Critters out.
Excited to add to the tree collection.
I now have Apple peach pear apricot cherry trees.10 of them.
New Mexico is a challenge to grow anything. I like challenges!
