It is that time of the year again. Santa’s Elves will be stopping by Woodworm to pick up your child’s letters to Santa. Please have letter in by December 22. So Santa has time to answer all letters with a return address.

Capitola's newly-elected officials will be sworn-in at our City Council meeting on December 12, 2024, at 5:30 PM in the City Council Chambers at 420 Capitola Avenue. All are welcome to attend!

The elected officials to be sworn-in are:
Gerry Jensen, City Councilmember
Melinda Orbach, City Councilmember

They will be joining existing City Councilmembers Yvette Brooks, Joe Clarke, and Alexander Pedersen (pictured in lower left). The City Council will appoint a Mayor and Vice Mayor for 2025 at this meeting.

With the conclusion of the election, we'd like to extend sincere thanks to every candidate who stepped forward. Each person who ran for office demonstrated a genuine desire to make a difference in Capitola.

Take a walk around historic Capitola Village and fill your box with delicious holiday cookies from participating stores! The Capitola Village Cookie Walk is a fun, family-centered activity taking place in Capitola Village on December 7th and 8th from 11am to 4pm.⁠

Bring your registration with you to Capitola Candy where boxes will be provided for the cookies. Then take a walk around historic Capitola Village and fill your box with delicious holiday cookies from participating stores.⁠

Ho Ho Ho...Santa Claus is comin’ to Capitola!

When: Saturday, Nov 30, 12pm
Where: Capitola Beach

Bring the family to welcome Surfin’ Santa to the shores of Capitola Beach! Santa will be riding the waves via Kayak for his annual visit to Capitola Village, arriving at 12pm. Once Santa lands ashore, he’ll greet the crowd and head to his beach chair on the Esplanade Stage, where he’ll settle in for a nice visit with all the kids. Be sure to bring your camera to capture Santa’s wave riding arrival, and your little one’s special visit with Santa. It makes a memorable holiday photo!

🎅🏻 Santa understands that children wait all year for this visit, and he looks forward to it just as much, enjoying each meaningful conversation. Yes, the wait may be long, however Santa takes his time to genuinely listen to and appreciate every child’s wishes. Enjoy this charming tradition, and an afternoon beside the beach in beautiful Capitola.
