At last night's Capitola City Council Meeting, Mayor Kristen Brown, read a City Proclamation celebrating the 150th anniversary of the opening of Camp Capitola. Thank you, Mayor.

In addition to the Curator, several Museum Board members were also present: newly elected Board President Emmy Mitchell-Lynn; newly elected Board Vice President Roger Wyant, Enrique Dolmo, and outgoing Board President Dave Peyton.

June 18th, 1874 was the official opening of Camp Capitola by Samuel Alonzo Hall. The current exhibition at the Capitola Historical Museum, "Little City Under Canvas" traces the founding of the resort and its evolution throughout the late 19th century into a premier California seaside resort.

The admission free Capitola Historical Museum, located at 410 Capitola Avenue, is open every Friday through Sunday from noon until 4:00 p.m.
