The Bubble Room Restaurant - PROGRESS!!!

A monumental day for The Bubble Room Restaurant: after 854 days we officially have permanent power! We are not ready to give an official opening date quite yet, but our timeline is between March 1st and April 30th. We appreciate everyone’s patience and enthusiasm for our reopening our staff and contractors are working tirelessly to reopen as soon as possible. Thank you for your continued support 🫧🩷

Bald eagle nests are hatching across Sanibel and Captiva!

The first nest to hatch on the islands this nesting season was on Captiva, which you can view a livestream of thanks to our partners at Window To Wildlife! Eagle parents Connie and Clive are diligently watching over their two new eaglets, which appear to be developing normally and should be able to fly within three months.

Three additional bald eagle nests have since hatched on Sanibel, and our staff and volunteers are monitoring six other nests in the area in coordination with Audubon Florida’s EagleWatch program.

America’s official national emblem since 1782, bald eagles were just recently named the “national bird” on Dec. 24, 2024.

⚠️ Bald eagles are protected by both state and federal laws. Any disturbance to bald eagles should not take place within 660 feet of an active nest without a federal nest disturbance permit and the required monitors in place. Merry Christmas everyone! 🎄🎁🦆 We would like to thank you all so very much for your love and support in the difficult months since the storms hit. Things are progressing rather slowly with our rebuilding plans, but as soon as we have something more definitive to share, please know that we will do so. We are optimistic but don’t have answers yet as to when we might be able to reopen. In the meantime, we pray that everyone has a wonderful holiday season. ❤️❤️❤️
