Coconut Castaway is located on North Captiva Island, a remote island in the Gulf off of southwest Florida's shores. This makes for a true island getaway!

You can only access the island by ferry, and no cars are on the island, only golf carts.

Family Spring Break day seven at Coconut Castaway was a bit of a cooler day on the island. That didn’t stop me from doing a bit more shelling where I found this crazy worm shell. It also didn’t stop a paraglider from enjoying the day. To top it all off we had an absolutely amazing sunset!

Family Spring Break day six at Coconut Castaway involved a drive around the island to see all of our neighbors progress. The island looks amazing and I enjoyed seeing some of the nesting Ospreys. It was a cloudy evening for sunset, but still beautiful. I also made our second favorite island pie… key lime pie!

Family Spring Break day four at Coconut Castaway was a fun day to enjoy the sun on the crow’s nest, the beach by the airstrip, sunset back on the crow’s nest and then one of our favorite desserts, coconut cream pie!

Family Spring Break day three at Coconut Castaway on St. Patrick’s Day started and ended on quite a windy note. First, the island celebrated St. Patty’s with a 5k fun run to support the Upper Captiva Fire Department. Because it was so windy we decided to partake in a puzzle, listening to music and chill out. The rest of the week should be amazing weather for more outdoor shenanigans to be had!

Family spring break day two at Coconut Castaway was spent relaxing with a golf cart drive around the island, stalking a red bellied woodpecker, and a two minute shelling session on the gulf side (less than two minute walk from the house)!
