They can climb trees, swim across rivers, and thrive in swamps, forests, and even suburban areas, making them one of Florida’s most adaptable wild cats.

Elusive & Rarely Seen – Despite living across Florida, bobcats are nocturnal and extremely elusive, making sightings in the wild a rare and special experience!

We love that we don’t impact our natural environment to allow us and wildlife on our island co exist!

What a way to welcome 2025! Last evening, our family enjoyed a privately prepared meal by the amazing Bo Marcoux from Coastal Eats. Not only is time spent with Chef Bo enjoyable and great conversation, but the food is out of this world! We were treated to Caesar Salad, Rigatoni with vodka sauce and blackened chicken and shrimp and a delicious brownie trifle for dessert!
If you don’t order from Coastal Eats (see earlier posts on delicious premade options) or splurge on a privately prepared meal during your next stay, you truly are missing one of the gems of North Captiva Island!

Step 1 - walk two minutes to the SHC dock
Step 2 - pick up your lovingly packed cooler from the ferry
Step 3 - return to Sandy Toes Villa
Step 4 - unpack cooler
Step 5 - pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
Step 6 - remove oven safe bag from cooler and place in pan
Step 7 - place pan in oven
Step 8 - enjoy a cocktail on the lanai 40 minutes
Step 9 - remove pan from oven
Step 10 - enjoy deliciousness

Wow! Things have been busy at Sandy Toes Villa. Today wrapped up the final touches of repairs. A little more cleaning and organizing then we will be ready and anxiously awaiting our first guests since Hurricane Helene who arrive early next week. A sneak peek of the stairwell and entry updates. Oh, and the golf cart had a complete overhaul including new batteries and is running better than ever!
