The picturesque town of Carbondale is located 170 miles west of Denver, 12 miles from Glenwood Springs, and 30 miles from Aspen in the heart of Colorado's central Rocky Mountains. At an altitude of 6,181 feet, and resting in the magnificent shadow of 12,953-foot Mount Sopris, Carbondale is characteriz

ed by an average of 295 days of sunshine, low humidity, cold but mild winters and comfortable summers. There is plenty to do including hiking, biking, golfing, kayaking, and world-class fly fishing. In winter, experience excellent cross-country skiing. The Carbondale area offers a variety of comfortable lodging options, great casual and exquisite fine dining, creative arts and entertainment, and intriguing historical areas. Join us tonight (12/6) for Light Up Carbondale! 🎅 Santa will kick it off with lighting the Forest Service tree and Main Street at 5:30pm, then treat kiddos to a sleigh ride through the heart of the Creative District.

🌟 Lots of other jolly happenings as well! The Town of Carbondale and Stepping Stones will be offering hot cocoa, and Alpine Bank will be sharing yummy sugar cookies at 4th and Main Streets.

👯 Enjoy caroling from the CCS students and keep your eyes peeled for a performance by our friends at Bonedale Flashmob!

🎁Carbondale Arts will be keeping The Launchpad open until 7pm for shopping and gift inspo at Deck the Walls Holiday Market, featuring 60+ local and regional makers.

Ready to Hit the Slopes? ⛷️ Carbondale is your perfect basecamp.

While we don't have our own ski resort here in Carbondale, we're conveniently situated between Aspen Snowmass and Sunlight Mountain Resort. Aspen Mountain and Snowmass both opened for the season on November 23rd and Sunlight Mountain Resort is kicking off their winter season with a soft opening this weekend (Dec 6-8) before fully opening on December 13th.

Join us for the 20th celebration of Día de los Mu***os in Carbondale!

Taking place on First Friday, November 1st, the celebration begins with the creation of a community ofrenda (altar) on the front patio of The Launchpad.

The pinnacle of the evening is the procession through town, with dancing by Aspen Santa-Fe Ballet Folklórico. Beginning at 6:00pm at the Third Street Center, the procession follows 3rd Street to Main Street, and ends at the 4th Street Plaza. All are welcome to join and participate!

The plaza hosts live performances, face painting, Lotería, pan de mu**to, Mexican hot chocolate, and other cultural goodies. Food trucks and local restaurants are open and serving an array of delicacies.
