Melasma is a form of hyperpigmentation that occurs from hormones. Lots of times women experience this with pregnancy (pregnancy mask). We see it sometimes with birth control use and even spironolactone use. It is a very stubborn skin condition to treat. Fortunately - if you suffer from this - we have several options for you!

This laser is specifically designed to treat melasma! Unlike IPL- this wavelength uses a pico beam that scatters across the skin breaking up the pigment as it goes. It is super quick- the laser doesn’t have a chance to heat up the skin.

PRF EZ Gel explained
Ok so I’ve had quite a few inquiries on our new service here- PRF EZ gel. I thought I’d try to explain it a little bit more on here.
This is a filler alternative! A natural approach to volume loss and restoration.
We use your own blood, spin it down, heat it up and re-inject in places you have lost volume.
We are harvesting the growth factors in the white blood cells; they slowly release over a period of 3 months and aid in natural regenerative healing to the tissues.
You see our bodies are pretty cool. They are designed to heal themselves.
PRF regenerative medicine has been used very successfully on the West coast to treat a variety of injuries- from chronic knee pain, torn meniscus, hair restoration to tennis elbow, etc.
We are using it for aesthetic purposes but it’s a wonderful alternative to filler.
It’s superior under the eyes!
Results are not as long lasting as filler per se- but you still will get long term overall improvement because of the work from the delayed release of the growth factors!

BBL stands for broad base light. It targets pigment, vascularities, acne, acne scarring, melasma and rosacea.
BBL is superior to IPL as it’s a much stronger device- in my opinion. They did a 7 year study out in Stanford university on BBL. They found in that study, BBL turned OFF the aging gene sequence and turned on the anti-aging gene sequence!
Pretty cool right?!
It’s far superior at removing pigment and unwanted vessels on the face, neck and body. It cleans up the skin. When we pair this with our Moxi hand piece - you get even BETTER results!
Why did I decide on adding this to the practice? Well I have seen my fair share of cases of melasma. Typically - you cannot treat melasma with IPL as the heat from the laser can worsen the pigment. With BBL and moxie- we are able to safely and effectively break up the melasma pigment without exacerbating the condition.
