Small business owners and employees of shops, restaurants, services, and organizations located in downtown Carlisle, Pennsylvania, are working to improve and enhance the experience of our neighbors and all who visit our downtown through Destination Carlisle, while providing the community with goods and services vital to their lives. To that end, we’ve recently launched our Virtual Guide to Downtown Carlisle, which is an easy-to-use tool for tourists and locals who come to downtown Carlisle. From the shores of the Mediterranean to the backroads of the American South, our 32 downtown restaurants and breweries celebrate the diverse cuisine of the world. American, Belgian, Chinese, English, French, Greek, Himalayan, Indian, Italian, Japanese, Mexican, and Vietnamese food in diner to fine dining settings can all be found along our tree-lined streets. Our downtown also offers a cidery, a distillery, two coffee shops, and three craft beer breweries along with pubs, all of which are within a few minutes walk of each other. Most host live music, open mics, and/or trivia nights nearly every evening, so a night on the town in Carlisle never gets boring.

Destination Carlisle is merchant led, merchant focused, and merchant run and a 501(c)3 registered non-profit. We endeavor to improve the downtown business district, to help build better relationships with the community it serves, and to increase local and non-local tourism through raising awareness of downtown Carlisle. We also coordinate opportunities for our businesses to work together cooperatively and help one another and advocate for them to local government on issues that may affect their success.
