Our honeymoon was this week, 9 years ago in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico! I keep seeing photos come up with memories so I knew I needed to share.

Honestly this night was kind of a mess, but also magical. The first 2 photos were from a pirate ship style cruise boat and candlelit dinner on an island off the coast. It rained the WHOLE TIME. But it was so warm out that we just went with it. It’s still a great memory!

The final photo is from the carnitas stand across the street from our resort. We almost exclusively ate at local mom and pops, where we saw locals lining up, and avoided any chains or resort food. The food we ate most often was actually from the deli/hot bar at the grocery stores! That’s my absolute favorite thing to do in other countries…visit grocery stores frequently!

We opted out of all-inclusive during this trip since it was 1 year after our wedding and I was almost 6 months pregnant with our first! We knew we wouldn’t get the most out of the all-inclusive fee without alcohol for me, but it turned out great since grocery store tortillas and black beans are 2 of the greatest foods on the planet! I still dream of them…

I know I already proclaimed my love for Dole Whip, but hands down, the best Disney food is Curry Popcorn from Tokyo Disneyland🍿 I still dream of it…

Growing up my family wasn’t a Disney park family. We had every VHS of everymovie, but our vacations were almost exclusively to visit family in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Pennsylvania. So my first park experience was actually in May 2005 when I went to Tokyo Disneyland for the first time during my college May Term.

Honestly I never wanted to leave.

I went back again in 2010 while I was studying abroad in Japan for a semester. (That’s why these pictures are SUPER low quality. They’re 13 years old!) It was just as spectacular as I had remembered.

I loved how impeccably clean it was. (And that’s saying something since I feel like even US Disney Parks are surprisingly clean too! Shout out to those custodial cast members!) The characters all seemed to be very excited to see us “foreigners” which made me wonder if they were other international folks happy to see other world travelers. The park is a lot smaller than the US parks, which made it feel super manageable for just a little day trip. Plus we were able to do so much in a day since it wasn’t as big or busy (at least back then!) And of course I loved the different foods! That was probably the best part! 😁

I can’t wait to go back!

Getting to knowwww you 🌟

As I’m building this space, I want you all to get to know ME. Even though I’m here to share info, travel inspiration, and tips and tricks, ultimately if we work together I want it to be a harmonious partnership! If we vibe, our travel planning will be seamless and so much more fun!

So be on the look out for more about ME, not just Disney or general travel. While that’s a big part of my world (see what I did there? 🧜‍♀️🤪), there’s so much more too!

So to start, my current non-travel-related obsession is raspberry syrup from Starbucks! And of course it’s discontinued 😭😭😭, so I’ve got a bottle of it I purchased on eBay that I’m S-L-O-W-L-Y getting through. Then I’ll have to move on to a new obsession. Try it in a mocha. 😍 It’s soooo good.

We just got back from an amazing getaway as a family! A week on a quiet lake, enjoying campfire s’mores, pontoon boat rides, sandcastles, and cannonball contests!

I wanted to go somewhere to spend time together before school starts back up in a couple weeks, but didn’t want the hustle and bustle of needing to GO and DO once we arrived. I wanted to just LIVE somewhere different for a week. 😆 So we did a vacation rental with all that we needed. It was perfection.

The girls were able to get dirty everyday, face their fears, and really unplug. We all did! Feeling refreshed and ready to get exhausted again when school starts next week! 😅

Happy Obon (almost)!🏮🍡

Even when we don’t have a chance to jump on a plane and explore the world, we take the opportunity to experience and learn nearby. 🇯🇵 Yeaterday our family enjoyed the Bon Odori Festival hosted by .

“Obon” is similar to Dia de los Mu***os or Day of the Dead but in Japanese culture. It celebrates and honors deceased ancestors, welcoming their spirits to visit and ushering them back to rest with special songs, dances, drums, and lanterns.

We got to watch a drumming performance, eat some delicious food, speak a little Japanese, and play some fun games together! The girls had a blast, especially playing for a yo-yo balloon and eating taiyaki ice cream shaped like fish!

Having a 12-week-old can limit us a bit with travel right now, but we won’t let that stop us from getting a little culture where we can! ⛩️
