Friends... I did a thing. Applied for a silly contest. I could win $20,000, which isn't so silly!

In fact it could make a HUGE difference with recovering some of the more than 50K of unreimbursed medical expenses we had last year thanks to 3 of us having a disease that the medical establishment refuses to acknowledge. I wish I was exaggerating! But I'm not. We did our taxes and we spent over 50K on treatments last year. Ughhh.

Had a cool "God-incident" (because I don't believe in coincidences anymore...) this morning... turned XM radio on to get in the shower, to channel 23 (Grateful Dead station) and here's what I heard... the end of a song...

"Some will rise, some will fall, some will climb to get to... Terrapin!" and then the announcer came on with an ad for the station, "The compass always points to Terrapin."

Here is our new sign, hung just outside out front door! And we just arrived for a luxurious 2 week vacation! ⛱️ 🌊

I hate to leave tomorrow... but I miss my hubbie and I suppose I must return to reality at home. This visit was so perfect!

Temps are only going up to 80 today, with no humidity. It is delicious here today! I love this palm tree next to our house. I gaze at it every morning while having my breakfast on the balcony!

I have been at Terrapin Station for the last week and it has been DIVINE. No humidity, the ocean is DELICIOUSLY warm and the tourists have all gone home. All the restaurants and even the rides on the Boardwalk are still open. Prices have gone down! It's the perfect time to go.

Did you see the Today Show this morning? The crew was "on vacation" at Hilton Head Island, and they claimed it was "America's Favorite Island." I beg to differ!

I had a wonderful, peaceful, restorative visit to Terrapin Station this last week! Here are some pics from our trip. Carolina Beach is absolutely perfect this time of year. The amusement park rides just went up on the boardwalk, and the water warmed up while we were there, so I was able to dip into the ocean before leaving.

I'm feeling sad to have left, but looking forward to another visit soon!

"We loved our 3-week stay at the lovely Terrapin Station. The house was wonderful! It was perfectly set up for a family, with all the amenities. The kitchen was stocked with all cooking supplies and needs and the pantry was huge! There is so much space in general! All bedrooms have comfortable beds (4 queens and 1 king). The closet space is almost outrageous, but does allow for lots of storage. We worked from "home" at Terrapin Station and the wifi was superb. We walked everyday to the beach (even in the snow!). From the front balconies you can see the ocean. We also enjoyed the backyard and grill. The outdoor shower was great to clean off sand after a trip to the beach. The house is close to the walking path that ends at Mike Chappell Park. We rented bikes from Tony Silvagni and enjoyed some car-free time! It was our first time staying in Carolina Beach and it will be our go-to in the Wilmington area from now. Looking forward to our next family vacation at Terrapin Station."

A bad weather day at the beach is still better than a perfect weather day anywhere else.... lol.

Here's something so great about Terrapin Station's location... our neighborhood "Little Free Library," just down the street! Bring a book, take a book! Because it is only 805 steps to the beach, and the ocean is calling! Or, take your newly discovered text and curl up near the porch, watching the wind blow and the rain fall, with nothing to do but read, breathe, and listen to the seagulls calling in the distance.
